For the development of digital services for the networked vehicle, data from the same vehicle is invaluable. To be able to provide this data cost-effectively and reliably, the Israeli company SafeRide Technologies, actually a specialist for cyber security in the automotive sector, has developed the CAN Optimizer data compression software.

CAN data from vehicles is of immense value for applications such as remote monitoring of vehicle condition, preventive maintenance, performance optimization, driver behavior analysis and much more.  Existing legacy telematics solutions collect little vehicle information and operate with limited computing power, so OEMs receive only limited information about their fleets, resulting in sub-optimal operating performance.


Uploading raw CAN data into the cloud enables advanced data services.  However, the process consumes a significant amount of costly bandwidth and storage space.  SafeRides CAN Optimizer has drastically reduced bandwidth requirements in case studies with customers by reducing data volume by 96%.  The software delivers 6 times better compression performance than any other solution on the market by leveraging machine learning, promises SafeRide.  Hardware changes are not necessary.  

The CAN Optimizer Library has been integrated and validated on several leading telematics chipsets including STMicroelectronics Telemaco3P, consuming only a fraction of the processing power and memory available on each chipset.
