IoT solutions provider Digi International (Hopkins, MN) has introduced a comprehensive IoT hardware, device management application, and technical support package designed to simplify and speed the process of creating connected digital ecosystems.

Digi Foundations combines hardware, software applications, services, and support in a comprehensive IoT-in-a-box package. By providing a complete solution, says the company, especially for mission-critical applications, Digi Foundations touches every element of IoT deployment, including management and analytics.

The solution is designed to address the need, until now, for organizations having to manage multiple providers with disparate hardware, software, data, asset connectivity and infrastructure solutions. Beginning with the physical hardware, says the company, Digi Foundations builds upon edge intelligence, placing bi-directional data and computation where it makes the most sense – at the sensor, gateway, business center, cloud, or in any combination – while also providing access to data from intelligent edge devices previously beyond reach.

Digi Foundations also includes Digi Remote Manager (DRM), a central, secure management application, which allows users to manage these devices and the networks their data traverse. DRM allows users to configure, control and maintain their IoT ecosystems by providing a real-time view of network and device health, sending notifications when an alert is triggered, and diagnosing and potentially repairing remote devices without the need to deploy a technician.

"Digi Foundations provides a unified service for remote device management, integration, cellular connectivity and data support leading to the creation of faster, more adaptable IoT ecosystems," says Scott Nelson, VP of Product at Digi International. "We're providing every element of our IoT stack expertise, allowing organizations to elevate their focus from tool management to the creation of mission-critical applications running on this next iteration of IoT networks. We allow the user to create the rules and we make the network work for their applications."

In addition to being included with the company's recently launched Digi IX14 secure industrial LTE router and WR54 high-performance wireless router, customers purchasing Digi routers will have the option to add the Digi Foundations subscription to their purchases. The add-on subscription combines DRM, 24x7 expert support, a limited lifetime warranty, and access
