Highly integrated HDBaseT chipset increases AV transmission range
The VS3000 chipset from the technology company Valens enables longer ranges for the transmission of ultra-high resolution video images via commercially available network cables. Using the HDBaseT technology co-developed by Valens, the VS3000 can transmit Ultra-HD videos over a distance of up to 100 meters.

The VS3000 is thus the only application specific chip (ASIC) that allows distance transmission of uncompressed video signals in 4K resolution at 60 Hz with full color coding at 4:4:4 in 16G HDBaseT technology, Valens claims. This corresponds to an HDMI2.0 bandwidth of 18 Gbps. Designed specifically for the professional AV market, the VS3000 ASIC is the most integrated product to meet the needs of the market with a wide range of functionalities. These include

  • HDBaseT Port Duality enables hardware design with configurable HDBaseT ports that can act as HDBaseT transmitter or receiver.
  • Simultaneous HDMI input and HDMI output ports built into the chip eliminate the need for additional HDMI devices.
  • The chip includes HDCP copy protection engines with audio extraction and integration capabilities, eliminating the need for external HDCP termination.
  • An on-chip switching kernel and chip-2-chip interconnect (DHDI) interface enable multiple video stream switching and support new HDBaseT network topologies.
  • On-chip support for USB2.0, audio, 1GB Ethernet and control signals.

Valens will demonstrate the functionalities of the VS3000 chipset for the first time at InfoComm 2019 in Orlando on June 8, 2019 at booth 921 as part of the HDBaseT Alliance's trade show appearance.
