GM, LG Chem team to advance 'all-electric future'
Automaker General Motors (Detroit, MI) has announced that it is teaming up with Korean chemical company LG Chem Ltd. to mass produce battery cells for future battery-electric vehicles.
technologies, with the goal of reducing battery costs to industry-leading levels. This investment, says the company, builds on GM's $28 million investment in its Warren, Michigan battery lab announced late last year.

Groundbreaking for the new battery cell plant is expected to take place in mid-2020.
