The round was led by iBionext, joined by all existing investors and new investors BPI France and Celeste Management. The company said it will use the money for the design and production of its GrAI system-on-chip.

GrAI already has its GrAI One accelerator chip available for product evaluation and application programming. This is implemented in the 28nm HPC manufacturing process from TSMC (see GrAI Matter, Paris research gives rise to AI processor for the edge).

The upcoming GrAI system-on-chip platform is being targeted at visual inference capabilities in robotics, industrial automation, AR/VR and surveillance products and markets. However, GrAI did not reveal whether it would be remaining on the 28nm manufacturing process or taking the opportunity to a more advanced node.

“We are excited to bring the fastest AI per watt to every device on the edge,” said Ingolf Held, CEO of GrAI Matter Labs, in a statement.

GrAI Matter Labs has offices in Paris, Eindhoven and San Jose.
