Air-deployable mobile sensor robots to aid first responders
Mobile sensing robot startup Squishy Robotics (Berkeley, CA) has unveiled rapidly deployable sensor robots that can be air dropped from drones and helicopters to provide situational awareness and to mitigate hazards during disasters and emergencies.
the company is making its shape-shifting robots available for pre-sale through its website, with product being delivered by the end of the year. The company says it expects future applications to include scientific monitoring, delivery services, smart home appliances, as well as educational applications for K-12 students, teachers, parents, roboticists, and hobbyists.
