Offered as providing a novel efficient approach to both low- and high-voltage wiring for modern vehicles, the company’s electronic smart power distribution module (eSPDM) consists of intelligent electronic power distribution modules that create an adaptive electric current network to operate all electrical components in a vehicle. The eSPDM, says the company, provides a new state of the art solution for conventional, electric, and autonomous vehicles.
Existing wire harness technology requires approximately 12,000 feet of wires, which reflect 20% of total vehicle costs. The conventional harnesses are heavy, bulky, and have significant warranty costs associated with them.
The benefits of eSPDM, says the company, include up to a 90% decrease in wiring content, lower harness cost per vehicle, and significant mass reduction allowing for lower greenhouse gas emissions and reduced energy consumption. Additional features include a patented fire-prevention algorithm, over-the-air reconfigurability, self-diagnostics, EMI noise prevention and preventive maintenance.

The company says that it has signed a development program that includes several new technologies including the Smart Wiring Harness system for implementation in Volcon ePowersports line of four wheel products, and adds that it is “moving forward” based on early interest from mobility OEMs requesting a production launch in MY 2023.
