Micron picks Rambus CryptoManager for secure memory products
The Rambus solution, says the company, enables secure personalization and provisioning of cryptographic information for industrial, consumer, and automotive markets, and enables a new level of protection for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The Rambus CryptoManager Infrastructure and Key Management Service (KMS) for Authenta technology will enable Micron to securely provision cryptographic information at any point in the extended manufacturing supply chain and throughout the IoT device lifecycle.
The integrated solution, says the company, will be essential in providing a foundation of trust for many market verticals, including the Industrial IoT (IIoT), smart cities, medical, automotive, and connected homes.
“Establishing trust across key points in the IoT through secure device authentication and connectivity is paramount to the safe deployment of smart devices and vehicles, as well as automated industrial equipment,” says Dr. Martin Scott, SVP/GM of Cryptography and CTO, Rambus. “The combination of secure provisioning from our CryptoManager Infrastructure with Micron’s Authenta secure memory will enable a broad industry footprint of trusted devices for end-to-end IoT security.”
