MEMS mirror IC for automotive LiDAR

The solid-state LiDAR using MEMS Mirror is expected to be one of the best ways to realize the LiDAR function, says the company. It is expected to popularize automotive LiDAR by realizing compact, high reliability, and low cost products which is difficult to realize by the mechanical method of rotating LiDAR.

The company had previously provided its first generation MEMS Mirror IC to a specific customer. Its second-generation MEMS Mirror IC, the CG0006AR, says the company, has been developed with its technology and equipment, and is expected to be used by customers worldwide.

Features of the CG0006AR include:

  • Electromagnetic MEMS Mirror for Automotive LiDAR
  • Mirror Diameter 4mmφ
  • Dual axis (X and Y)
  • Wide FOV : 60 x 30°
  • Angular Sensor and Temperature Sensor integrated
  • Package size : 24 x 22 x 6.6mm

The company says that it is also developing a new MEMS IC with smaller dimensions and a smaller mirror diameter for AR Smart Glass, HUD, and Pico Projector applications, and will start shipping samples once its development is completed. Samples of the CG0006AR MEMS Mirror IC will begin shipping this month.
