DIY home security, automation solution from Samsung, ADT
Combining the intelligence and connectivity of Samsung’s SmartThings platform and the professional monitoring services of ADT, the Samsung SmartThings ADT home security system is offered as the safest, easiest, and most flexible DIY security and smart home solution available. The product consists of a Home Security Starter Kit and a Home Safety Expansion Pack, and is offered as providing consumers the ability to create a safe and secure home and grow their connected home ecosystem as their needs evolve, including professional security monitoring by ADT with no long-term contract.

The Home Security Starter Kit includes a Security Hub, two door and window detectors, and a motion detector. Additional sensors can be added as needed – including those for fire, carbon monoxide, and water detection – with the addition of the Home Safety Expansion Pack.
The ADT Security Hub 7-inch touchscreen panel also works as a SmartThings Hub so users can control and monitor hundreds of third-party smart devices, such as door locks and doorbells, thermostats, and light bulbs. Users can manage these devices and sensors, set up routines, and receive alerts based on their preferences, as well as check on the security of their home from the SmartThings mobile app, which is available on both Android and iOS devices.
Consumers have the ability to sign up for or suspend ADT service on their app, at their convenience. There are no contracts or long-term commitments for the consumer.
The Samsung SmartThings ADT home security system is available for pre-order at BestBuy.com and Samsung.com, and will be available on October 29 in Best Buy stores as well as at BestBuy.com, Samsung.com and SmartThings.com. The ADT Home Security Starter Kit starts at $549.99 and the ADT Home Safety Expansion Pack starts at $199.99, while monthly monitoring service from ADT is available starting at $14.99 for life safety and $24.99 for security services.
