The M1 2D LiDAR sensor, says the company, offers twice the price-performance versus legacy industrial LiDAR sensors. With up to double the range and range accuracy and 75% more data, M1 is offered as providing superior accuracy and object-detection at longer range compared to the legacy LiDAR sensors in the market today.

The sensor is designed specifically to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity by helping automate critical processes in industrial applications such as logistics in warehouses, factories, and other industrial facilities as well as providing more accurate detection at loading zones of cargo containers onto trucks at busy port terminals.

“Quanergy’s M1 provides far superior performance and accuracy than what exists in the market today, at a better price point, and is ideal to automate operations without needing a person physically monitoring the workspaces,” says Teresa Liou, Sr. Director of Product Management at Quanergy. “M1’s accuracy brings LiDAR technology to a new level, providing unmatched performance with the ability to detect objects at longer distances and at higher efficiencies than ever before.”

The M1 LiDAR sensor, says the company, offers the following benefits:

  • Up to 2x higher range and range accuracy – With M1, industrial automation organizations can now more precisely detect objects up to 70 m at 10% reflectivity, ideal for complex outdoor applications such as loading and unloading containers on and off ships.
  • Finest angular resolution for best in class measurement accuracy – With an industry leading angular resolution of 0.033° and 360 degree coverage, M1 offers up to 7.5x finer resolution than existing industrial sensors, enabling best in class measurement.
  • Up to 75% more data per second – Quanergy M1 provides a denser point cloud dataset delivering a higher resolution of an image or object.
  • Small compact footprint – The new M1 is over 50% smaller in size and is three times lighter than competing sensors, capable of mounting and installing on a wide variety of platforms requiring a small footprint.

The M1 2D sensor, says the company, is a perfect complement to its 3D M8 sensor and is immediately available.
