ADI, Momenta collaborate to advance HD maps for autonomous vehicles
The collaboration will see Analog Devices’ inertial measurement units (IMUs) used to improve the mapping system setup and technology upgrades in Momenta’s L3 freeway ramp-to-ramp solution and L4 full autonomy driving solutions.
Under poor weather conditions, or when a GPS signal is lost, an IMU is used to deliver high-precision mapping output. ADI’s IMUs will increase the accuracy of Momenta’s HD mapping solutions. ADI claims the company’s IMUs were chosen as theyexceed the value/performance ratio of alternative sensors based on fiber optic gyro or laser gyro technologies.
