3D printing software addresses newbies

March 02, 2016 // By CHRISTOPH HAMMERSCHMIDT
The XYZmaker software is targeting non-expert users in the area of 3D printing. It contains a broad range of pre-defined models as well as a selection of simple tools to create many differently shaped objects.

The software-generated virtual objects can be rotated, modified, regrouped and personalized to create detail-rich printable designs. XYZmaker is compatible with all offerings of XYZprinting, the 3D arm of New Kinpo Group. Users can export documents for use on other systems in .stl, .obj, .amf and .oly formats.

“3D printers have already been greatly improved in terms of user friendliness and availability”, explains XYZprinting CEO Simon Shen. “However, it was hitherto rather difficult to create 3D designs, if you were not an expert. We hope that the XYZmaker will close this gap and brings us all one step closer to widespread 3D usage and help everybody in becoming a 3D maker”.

XYZmaker can be downloaded free of cost for XYZprinting members.
